Soar Into Spring

Saturday was Flagstaff's annual Soar Into Spring kit festival. We had a lot of fun. It was the first weekend in 3 weeks that everyone in the family was healthy, it wasn't cold or snowy and no one had a 20 page paper to write. And believe it or not some of those things happened all at one- Andrew had to write a HUGE paper all while having an awful stomach bug...which also landed on Mother's Day weekend. Needless to say, we were very happy to be out in the warm weather to spend some much needed time together as a family!

Emaline was very excited to fly kites...in theory, she didn't really want to hold the kite, just chase after it as I attempted to get it in the air. Kite flying is a lot harder than I remember it being...

Proof that August was there. He had a great time, so great that he slept through it all.

We finally convinced her to actually hold the string.

Taking a break from all the hard work of chasing after the kite!

These are our friends Mike and Becky... the parents of "The Boys", from the Easter blog post. Mike just graduated from Phoenix seminary with the degree that Andrew is going for. He has been a huge help, with advice on what professors to take, lending books, computer use and as a friend who has gone ahead to pave the way. And Becky has been a great help to me as well...with 4 kids of her own, if she can survive her husband going to seminary, so can I!!!
