Hey Ya Charlie Brown

Wednesday, December 16, 2009

Emmy had her one year check up last Friday. She is doing superb. She cried the during her shots...this was the hardest she had ever cried. But I don't think being almost 2 hours past naptime helped much either. She weighs 19 lbs and 13 oz, but a whole 20 lbs with her super pants(aka cloth diapers) on. Oh and she has a second tooth coming in. Looks like she will have her two front(bottom) teeth for Christmas.

That's really all I can muster to write. I am very tired.

Emaline is One..

But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere. Peacemakers who sow in peace raise a harvest of righteousness. James 3:17-18
~ The verse we chose to be Emmy's life verse.

SO as I am posting it realized that it is 9.21pm on 12.5.09. Emmy's EXACT birthdate!

Time goes by so fast. I had been told that time goes by fast once you have a little one, I just didn't realize how fast. We have tried very much to be present each day with Emaline, to enjoy each phase, each season. They all have they joys and blessings. To be honest, I know that the season also have their downs, but I can't really recall what they were. The good times have over powered any negatives.

Emaline is a precious, smiley, happy, content, kind, sweet spirited little girl. We are blessed to be her parents.
Things we love about her (not exhaustive of course):
~ How she dances and sways to music....even if it just me singing a silly song to her
~ How she will select a book from the shelf and bring it to us to read
~ How excited she is about bathtime
~ How she "chases" us around the coffee table
~ How she loves to be near us
~ How she enjoys to play by herself, but most often wants to share the fun
~How wonderfully she sleeps
~How she literally gets tickled in her carseat when she pulls off her socks
~How I can tell when she is pulling off her socks because she has a different little laugh
~How she gets so excited when she see any form of an animal...especially dogs
~How she can empty my tupperware cabinet in 5 seconds flat
~ How she points to our nose when we ask where it is
~ Her little one tooth grin
~ Her beautiful big blue eyes
~Her Crazy silly hair....especially when she just wakes up
~How she talks in her crib before she is ready to get up
~ Her very silly and odd sleep positions
~How excited she gets when she hears Andrew walk through the door from work
~How excited she gets when she sees me walk through the door after I have been out
~How she cuddles when she gets sleepy
~How she can clear her bookshelf in 2 seconds flat
~ How she pushes the dining room chairs around the house
~ I love that all our glass doors have little smudges about 2 feet off the ground
~ Her Laugh
~How she likes to make me clap my hands
~ How when she is really tired, she will pull my hands to hold her little face

What? Is there something on my face?

More photos/blogging to come. I'm tired. It's been a fun filled, but long day. (especially since I drank coffee too late in the afternoon yesterday and was up till 1 am. UGH! Bedtime for this momma)

Great grandparents, crafts and an 11 month old cutie patootie

This is Emaline at 11 months old..eating a blackberry. Emaline got her first tooth in around November 2nd. She weighs 19 lbs and is a little over 2 feet tall. She walks a lot more often and with much more confidence. Last night she went from crawling, to standing, to walking without holding/pulling herself up on anything. She LOVES music and LOVES to dance. She can actually keep really good rhythm and will sway or bounce in time with the music. She loves animals, especially dogs, and will holler and point at any and all she sees or hears.
Here is Emaline with her Great Grandma and Grandpa. She had a blast hanging out with them. At this time I would like to say a special message to Doc and Marcia: It was GREAT to have y'all come to visit us! We had a blast...and next time we will skunk you in Euchre....we were so close! I would also like to thank Marcia for the wonderful gifts she bought for me.....a broom and dust pan!!! Can you believe that I have never owned either one until a few weeks ago. I LOVE IT! I know it sounds ridiculous, but I LOVE sweeping up stuff. I am not even kidding...I really love it...it has changed my life. No more lugging the vacuum up and down the stairs to clean up Emmy's crumbs, or dirt tracked in from outside. I have been having so much fun sweeping I went out and bought a mop...I didn't have one of those either. And Marcia, I say a prayer of thanks for you and Doc every time I sweep, so you are on my mind very often throughout the day. Thank you also for the cute clothes and the little fans! We are going to get the fans put up this evening. I also think of you every time Emmy wears that cute little heart jacket. THANK YOU!!! We love you very much!
Footie Pajama's- LOVE THEM!
(Emmy looks a bit creepy with the album reflection on her face......)
Aren't these pictures just the cutest! I love the little vest she is wearing!
We are doing pretty well over here in Flag. Andrew and I are fighting off being sick. We aren't full blown sick yet so we hope we can take it easy so as to prevent anything from coming on full force. I was bit by the crafty bug the other day and have been making a TON of stuff. I can't say everything that I have been making as they are Christmas gifts. But as a teaser, of ALL the things that I have ever handmade...these items has been my favorite to make and I have been most pleased with them. What I can tell you is that I have also made a Christmas stocking for Emmy, a growth chart for Emaline's birthday. (Katie, this was super easy to make. Let me know what colors you want the embroidery to be and I can start working on it at the beginning of the new year. The canvas is not cream, I got a really pretty sage green.) And, aside from like 2/3 gifts, we are done with our Christmas shopping!!! I bought a few items way back in the summer, so that has helped. It will be nice to embrace the holiday season without having to embrace the craziness of the stores. I plan to do some holiday baking as well, so not having to do Christmas shopping will free me up to be in the kitchen making some yummy treats. We also bought Emaline's Christmas gifts last night from Amazon. We got her Grover: There's a monster at the end of this book, a little stuffed dog that barks when you squeeze it....and we will be getting her some article of clothing. I am very excited to see her reaction to the dog.

So that is what I have been up to. At least the fun things that I have been doing. Work is just work and not much to write about.

That's all for now folks. Just wanted to say hi to Claire and Amanda...can't wait for BABY TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
