Here is the nursery! The pictures really don't do it justice. I love how this room turned out. Months of thinking and planning and searching to find everything definitely paid off!
This is the view standing in the doorway.
Same viewpoint, just turned the camera. I still need to get some cordless shades, but we are having a hard time finding the right size. And when we do find the size we need it is well over $100! So in the meantime, I am brainstorming a way to make the room darker and still look nice. Oh, and for the safety cautious among our readers, I plan on moving the crib away from the window once baby boy is able to stand up. View standing near the window. (and no, Emaline is not that tall, she is standing on a box) I found a calendar that had vintage travel posters that I have framed over a background of maps of different countries.
View standing beneath the globes. The suitcases were found at several different thrift stores and have been so nice to store extra baby stuff. Some have bottles in them, one I believe has clothes in it...it will be great to have the extra storage space that doubles as a night stand!
Close up of the luggage. I also found some sticker replicas of luggage tags that I used to update an existing lampshade.
I was standing on the changing table side of the room. I LOVE this picture. It was a Goodwill find! You can't really tell from the photo, but it is of a desk of an explorer, with vintage books, globes, maps, etc and really goes with the feel of the room. Andrew and I made the shelf (thanks for the Home Depot Gift card, Abby) and it still needs to be painted once the weather warms up.
And there you have it. Now to complete the room we need a little one to arrive!
And here is a video of Emmy. This video only captures just a small portion of Emmy silliness and energy. She could run up and down the hall for hours and at times(with Andrew chasing her) has.
And here is a video of Emaline's happy dance. It's the first few seconds. She was doing it for quite a bit longer, but I couldn't get the camera fast enough to get it all.
