39 Weeks with Sam and Alexis

Over the weekend, two of my best friends, Sam and Alexis, from elementary school came for a visit. The visit was pretty spontaneous, (planned 2 weeks prior) and oh so WONDERFUL! I have known these girls since 5/6th grade. As Anne of Green Gables would phrase it, they are kindred spirits! We stayed up late...way too late...slept in, stayed in our PJ's, played games, ate good food, had coffee, baked, played with Emmy and just caught up on life! It was a wonderful blessing and a great distraction being so close to my due date. Had they not been here, I would have spent the time twiddling my thumbs and finding one more thing to clean/organize/prepare....but instead I just got to relax and enjoy my friends.

When the 3 of get together, we usually do a WHOLE lot of laughing. This time was no exception only now we had Emaline around us. And most often when we would start laughing, she would say, "No, No, No, too loud!"

One of the best things about their visit was watching Emaline interact with them. Usually if we have visitors or guests it might take her a little while to warm up or not be shy around them. But from the moment the girls walked in the door, they were her best friends...she wasn't reserved or shy. I think she knew they were kindred spirits. She would wake up in the morning asking about her friends and would want to sit near them, hold their hand, sit in their lap, have them read to her and follow them around the house. All of which Sam and Alexis, encouraged!

Thanks Sam and Alexis! We ALL had a great time!

(Oh and I was having issues on the last post, so hopefully the comments are now allowed and the pictures won't duplicate.)

What a fun surprise! Nothing like kindred spirits. And, no belly pic? Come on, you're killing me! :)
