Finally....a Real Post!!

Saturday morning...Andrew's watching soccer, Emmy's playing with her kitchen and I am blogging. I know it's been a while. We've been a bit busy as of late. So where to start?

Well, we can start with our little Emmy girl. For starters, she is definitely a little girl. Yep, not a baby anymore. It's sad, but also super fun. She is getting TONS of teeth....I think between 6 and 8...at once. Yeah, it's been rough. She was pretty cranky for about a week or two, but now that they have all broken through she is back to her pleasant happy go lucky little self. She loves playing outside, especially if I am watering my garden. She loves to play with the water spraying from the faucet or the hose. She is also very obedient, she puts her toys away when asked, sits on her blanket for snack time( she doesn't need to be asked , she knows if she is getting a snack she needs to sit on her blankie), and will walk her plate into the kitchen when she is done eating. For the most part she is an easy going little girl...just so happy and pleasant and silly. One area that needs improvement is the sharing thing. She became super territorial when her little cousin Daniel came to visit. It was actually hilarious to watch because she was preemptively stingy....Daniel would come into the room and she would yank her sippy cup or toy up, kind of like a basketball player guarding the ball before he goes in for a shot. But with a little work and a few little spanks and some practice she got a bit better.....it will be a lesson that we will continue to work on.

I took this picture as proof that my angel girl is not always an angel. This was taken last Sunday, after I told her that she could no play with the camera. As you can see, she was none to pleased. This doesn't happen too often, but most often it is involved in her wanting something and not getting it.

Emaline discovered the moon the other night and by her reaction you might have thought that she was the first person in history to acknowledge its existence. She is in awe over the moon and will point it out every time we are out at night. She also loves to smell flowers. I will often take her to a flower nursery in town to run around, play on their play set, look at the cats, fish and turtles and to smell the flowers. She doesn't grasp smelling so much, but will bend down and essentially blow her nose on the flowers...it's cute. She is crazy for fish kisses and has been able to do it once or twice, but I don't think she quite understands how to do it.

Playing with her food after she was done eating it.

My dear friend Aude (pronounced like Ode). Aude calls Emmy her part time baby. I am hoping that some of her French will rub off on Emmy.

Playing in a tub of water at Aude's house.

Emaline also likes to help clean.

Yep, look at that face....such a big girl.

We adore our little girl to pieces. The best part of the day is when we go in to check on her before bed. She is so cute when she sleeps....so cute I just want to scream. We love love love our little Emaline!

I just adore the sad face. Even the most wonderful perfect princesses have their moments! She is just too precious and getting so big (I don't have to tell you that). It is such a bittersweet thing to experience your child's rapid growth. So sad but yet so wonderful and exciting. I'm always reminded to cherish every moment. You have a wonderful girl. You'll have to give me some tips when it comes to discipline =).

Checking in on Emmy when she was sleeping was MY favorite part of my visit last summer. (I can't believe it's almost been a year now!) We do the same thing with Benji now, and I love it. Actually, I do any time I walk by his room when he's asleep :)
