WEEK 37!!! We are at the Watermelon stage
of pregnancy.
We are definitely close to baby time!!! As much as we can be, Andrew and I are ready. We keep trying to bribe her with chocolate, or cookies..even Wii to entice her to come early. Yeah, yeah, I know, bribing your kids is not the best parenting method....
At week 37, your pregnancy is considered full term, meaning baby is likely to thrive after birth. Baby spends these last weeks in preparation for the outside world… meaning careful refinement of the blink, suck, inhale and exhale. Meconium, which you’ll probably find in the first diaper, is accumulating in the intestines. If (okay, as) you worry about giving birth, consider what it’s like for the little one. During the journey out of your womb, baby will produce more stress hormones than any other time in life.
The car seat is installed and deemed safe by the car seat technician at the fire station. Why are firemen trained to inspect car seats? Cousin Abby, maybe you know? The phone charger is packed. The camera batteries are charged and the camera is packed. The baby book is updated with all the information that can be filled out ahead of time. I cleaned the fridge this weekend and mopped the floors. I got my hair cut. Laundry is done, but really, it is never done. So, we are just maintaining the status quo. I have been playing Mario Cart on Wii. Andrew's coworker, Lowell, let us borrow his Wii and games so that I won't be restless during the day. It's been fun. I also have a book to start reading. That might happen today. Oh and I need to register at the hospital...I have been playing phone tag with the nurse and it is my turn to call to give her all our insurance info.
I have been feeling good. My foot still hurts and I still don't know why. As usual, my back hurts when I sit for too long, or if I stand for too long. Sometimes, I just don't win the let's be comfortable game. The good part is that I have been sleeping well the last few nights. YEAH!
Andrew has been amazing during this whole process. Very supportive and encouraging. He was that way even when I wasn't pregnant, but even more so nowadays. I haven't had to clean a toilet since we moved into the house, or scrub a tub. I can't remember the last time I filled up my car with gas...Andrew always does it....again he did all that before I was preggo. We go grocery shopping together every week and he always carries in ALL the groceries. He won't let me bend over to pick up stuff...even though I can, I let him. He doesn't mind when I wear his slippers around the house, even though his feet are cold. I like his slippers better than mine. But he always goes to get my slippers if he really needs his and will usually put my slippers on my feet for me. He always goes downstairs for me to get something that I want or have forgotten...usually a glass of water before bed. He also makes better pancakes and hot chocolate than me so he makes those for us on Pancake Sundays. Those are just the things I can think of off the top of my head. We make a great team and I thoroughly appreciate all that he does(and I know he feels the same way about me too). I love him very much!
As I mentioned yesterday. It snowed on Sunday night. Here are our beautiful peaks...dusted with wonderful snow! Isn't is beautiful? I love snow. On Monday morning, when it was snowy and cold outside, I woke up and Andrew was making cinnamon rolls for breakfast. It was the best way to wake up on such a cold morning!

So, now to the business portion of this blog. POINTS! The winner of the honeydew melon bad pun contest........It's a tie! Dad and Claire made me laugh out loud at the first read of their puns. 2 Million points to you both!
Here's dad's:
What do you call lassie after a honeydew bath?
A "MELON COLLIE" BABY!!!!!!!!!!
Here's Claire's:
What happened when someone asked AJ if he liked the color purple?
He said, "I don't but my honeydew."
Well done!! And no one guessed the right answer on the Presidential trivia. Jimmy Carter was the first president to be born in a hospital.
This week's trivia is in honor of the blog title, Dirty Dancing, for 4 million points:
In the movie, Dirty Dancing, what does Johnny say is the most important thing about lifts?
And also, check out the link I included in the previous post.

Ooooo! I know this one! It's balance!
And yeah for Andrew being such a good hubby!
YEAH, CASEY!!!! You got the trivia question. The key to lifts is indeed balance! Way to go!
Wow. 37 weeks. You are blessed.
hey meg,
about the foot..definitely get it checked out after the baby. With all the hiking you do,and the fact that Baby has stolen (ummm borrowed?)alot of your calcium away from you, maybe it is a stress fracture?
Just a guess.
Sounds like ya'll are all set. :)
and i still maintain that there is a distinct difference between sage(y) green and mint(y) green :P
LOL i will just tell everyone that your room was my muse.
I should write an Ode to Green..though Heaven knows that ain't easy! :P
