I discovered a new fabulous website, diaperpin.com. It is a website with great resources for cloth diapering as well as other product reviews. One of the features I like is that real moms who have tried and tested the products can leave their 2 cents about any given baby product. It is very helpful and informative. The other 2 features that I think are neat are 1) it has a calculator that can find how much you will save by using cloth vs. disposable. It even calculates water and energy for washing the cloth ones, 2) it posts website freebies, sales and discounts for little boutiques that sell cloth diapers and other baby items. I was able to buy some diaper covers (pictured above) in various sizes for very cheap.
I also met a new "friend" at Starbucks a few weeks ago. I was meeting our real estate agent for "coffee"(I didn't get coffee, I had the chocolatey chip drink) and the barista started asking me about when I was due and all those normal questions. And then she said that she couldn't even tell I was pregnant until I turned around. That made me happy. I know it may seem odd, but when you feel HUGE and other people tell you otherwise, it's nice. So thank you barista girl from Starbucks!
We had our hospital tour on Tuesday evening. It was pretty neat, filled out paperwork and answered a ton of questions. The profile nurse was very nice but could have been a character on SNL. It definitely made us even more excited for baby time.
I have also packed the hospital bag. It was much easier than I thought. There isn't much that the hospital isn't providing. All we have to bring are toiletries and going home clothes. I haven't packed my clothes yet, because I still need to wear them. But the toiletry bag is ready to go except toothbrush and hair brush and all of baby's items are ready to go as well. Pretty much, I have just been putzing around the house, cleaning, organizing, getting rid of stuff and of course, I do go to work everyday. I can't think of anything else.
I also wanted to share some of my favorite things, just because I was thinking about stuff and this category came up.
Favorite Ice Cream: Bluebell Cookies and Cream. It's in the freezer right now and since Andrew is no longer eating dairy it's ALL mine!
Favorite Fries: Quinn's, formerly the Burger Bar. I miss working right next door to them and my boss ordering lunch for the office from there.
Favorite Malt: See above
Favorite Movie: Ever After
Favorite Actors: Christian Bale, Johnny Depp and Matt Damon
Favorite room in the house: Baby's room- of course because it is the baby's room, but also because it is completed.
Favorite place to get a chuckle on the web: Cake Wrecks
Favorite cleaning supplies: Method
Favorite afternoon relaxing "me" time to do: Watch Ellen. I love that show. I definitely get my daily laugh in. Here is one of my favorites from a long time ago.
And this is for mom, the best one is the very last one:
And this one is just so funny!
Hope you got a good laugh! I will post again next week. I will try to remember to take some pictures this weekend to add to the next post.
