Week 23- 119 Days to Go!
We are still in the papaya stage. Which according to Andrew, a papaya is larger than a cantaloupe.
The points from last week's post will be awarded to Claire, Sam and Holly, who all had the correct answers! Way to go- 4 million points for each of you. Don't spend them all in one place! Abby and Andrea, I will give you 1 million points for creativity. Well done.
Below are pictures taken on Saturday, August 2nd.

Not much else on the update. The baby is moving around alot more.
There will not be a trivia question this week. However, I would like to poll our readers. Please answer the following questions.
(To leave a comment you just click on the "Comment" under the post. You don't have to have an account with blogger, you just write in the text box and then hit publish comment.)
1. How would you define someone as a Hippie?
2. Would you classify me as a Hippie?

Just a little shout out to the "California Bobbies" from Granola 'hippie" Bobby!(i prefer granola as an adjective instead of the word Hippie)

hmm well i looked it up. so can i assume that you have been called "hippie" recently?

hip·pie
a person, esp. of the late 1960s, who rejected established institutions and values and sought spontaneity, direct personal relations expressing love, and expanded consciousness, often expressed externally in the wearing of casual, folksy clothing and of beads, headbands, used garments, etc.

noun
someone who rejects the established culture; advocates extreme liberalism in politics and lifestyle

usually a young person who does not wish to live by the normal rules of society and who shows his rejection of these rules by his unusual clothes, habits etc

well some of the definitions seem to align with some of your views as you have expressed them to me..but i have yet to see any headbands or love beads lol
but i have never thought of you as "hippie" persay..maybe granola yes..but not "hippie"

so what prompted this poll?

by the way, you are looking mahvelous dah-ling..tiny,little tummy hehe :) keep the pictures coming!

ps.. Peace Out :P

potentially blonde question in 3...2....1..:
are we the California Bobbies??

(and the reason i ask...there may be other of your "bobbies" out here that i dont' know about lol.. and i dont' want to assume its us!..kind of like when you think someone is waving at you and you wave back..only to discover that the person was waving at someone behind you haha)

***WAVING*** :D

Abby, I am sorry but you are not the California Bobbies. The Bobbies are our other family.....Drew and Holly, Joe and Julia and Neil and Erin. We all went to Florida on vacation together and we named it the Bobby Family Vacation. It was during the time that Ricky Bobby/Talladega Nights came out.

I still love Abby's writing and sense of humor. I am so sorry that I cannot lay hands on her writings that I saved back when she started college and sent Drew her stuff before editing hers. That was 5 computers ago....I was not savvy at how to save well. I think they may be on ancient storage devices, won't know until I hook up everything, but I don't hik there is software for what I have now.

Anyhow, Aunt Cindy was a hippie and Drew doesn't match the flea-infested guys she brought home. Do you frequent coffeehouses for poetry readings and diatribes? She had a lot of hand painted clothing, too. She was skipping school frequently, went to many war moratoriums and was ready to overthrow the government.

I will give you the artsy-fartsy end of things.

What did prompt this poll?

Love the tummy, too.

Megs,

Sorry, I thought my name was going to be on it. Also, the sentences did not make sense. Abby sent Andrew her writings before editing his.

Goofy moment.

Love,
Sandy

Oh Meg, pleeeeeeeease tell me you don't "advocate extreme liberalism." That would be too much to bear. I would refer to your style (as seen on blog) as folksy and urban outfitters-ish. Hippie might be an extreme.(?) by the way....I'm giving cloth diapers a go. I'll let you know how it goes.

well I'm starting out using pre-folds, gerber vinyl pants covers, kushies disposable liners, kushies cotton liners, and 5 kushies all in ones (all found on walmart.com for AMAZING prices.....the only reason I'm giving it a try!) Shawn is really fighting me on it b/c of my less-than-perfect laundry habits so we'll see how it goes!
