WEEK 20- The week of the cantaloupe.
Baby's digestive system is busy creating meconium (a tarry black substance made of swallowed amniotic fluid, digestive secretion and dead cells), which will fill the first diaper after birth. And, speaking of the diaper situation... baby's genitals are now fully formed
Well, we are half way through the pregnancy. Boy does time fly. So we had our 20 week ultrasound on Tuesday morning. It was fun being able to see the baby move around. We even got to watch the baby open and close its mouth, like it was chewing on something. It was really cool to see. We also got to see the brain, kidneys and heart. IT WAS AMAZING! The tech also said that the baby was most likely around 3/4 of a pound. Heart rate was at 158. Everything looked good and healthy. But I am sure many of you are wondering if we found out what we are having. We sure did. The baby was sitting pretty low, so for a good while it looked like we weren't going to being able to find out. But the tech knew how to do her job and was able to maneuver around the baby.
WE ARE HAVING A GIRL!!!
Yep, we are pretty excited. It definitely makes the whole thing feel more real and tangible. I was even able to buy a few things yesterday from a lady off of Craigslist for super cheap. 27 items of clothing for $10.00. What a steal!
We have begun tossing around name ideas. We won't be disclosing the name/name options until the baby is born.
So that is the new news. We have some really cute ultrasound pictures that once we get them scanned and uploaded we will post. Oh and I finished knitting the baby blanket.....it looks pretty good if I do say so myself.
Oh and 2 million points is anyone can guess from which show the title on this post came from and an extra 2 million points if you can tell me who said it. (If anyone has a chance at getting this right it might be Abby...we'll see)

Andrea wins the 4 million points for being the first to accurately name the show and person. This was from the episode where I think Zach and Kelly were going to pretend to elope to fool Mr. Belding. They were all in Mr. Beldings office when he proclaimed- You Can't Elope! To which Screech replied: Who you calling a cantaloupe, you melon head?!

Ummm....Abby, while I appreciate you suggesting such a BEAUTIFUL name, I would hope it would not be followed by "the cantaloupe." :) Meg- I am so excited for yall. I love having a girl, and while I would have been happy with a boy also, I have really enjoyed my girly. So glad everything is going well- and by the way, love the SBTB reference.

I would love the pattern for a blanket...especially if it's quick! I get too bored doing anything large usually.
