What's happening with our little August

I am going to attempt to write an update on each family member over the next few days! We've had so many wonderful things going on, I can hardly keep up. And I often forget to either take pictures or upload them to the computer. These pictures are from the 4th of July and maybe as far as May/April.

We'll start with our little man, August. He is officially a toddler @ 16 months old He might be considered a toddler, but to be honest he does very little toddling and a WHOLE lot of running! I'm not exaggerating when I say it's hard to get a good picture of him because he is always blurry in the pictures....he just doesn't stop moving! But at least he takes regular  2-3 hour afternoon naps every day. 

We start them early in our family....already learning how to grill!

 August has almost a complete set of teeth already, 4 top and bottom and his molars are in. He practically got all 4 of his molars at once....which wasn't too bad, he was just a bit drooly...well, more than a bit....think Turner and Hooch.

 August is a great little eater. Unless it is something like yogurt or applesauce, he is an independent eater. He eats about 2 eggs or 2 pieces of toast for breakfast every morning, lunch is whatever I can find and dinner is whatever we eat. We are working on his utensil skills. Regardless of how or what he eats though, he is usually a mess after the meal. 

The 2 pictures below is one of August's favorite thing to do. Emmy calls this trick "Jack and Jill". Not sure why, but this is what she named it. August also LOVES to spin in circles. 

 Words August knows: Eye, mama, papa, teddy, hi, please.

 Signs: More, please, all done. 

Misc: Makes elephant noises while putting his arm up like the trunk, wiggles his nose with his finger as his "bunny nose", puts his arms kinda by his arm pits while making his version of a monkey, makes a fish sound when he see a fish,  sticks his tongue out and pants like a puppy, barks, waddles for a penguin, & does his own version of butterfly. 

Can point to his nose, eyes, mouth and tongue when asked.

August also likes to play in the curtains...a habit we are working hard to break. He also LOVES LOVES LOVES stuffed animals. When he finds one he will give it a HUGE hug and lots of kisses. As of a few days ago he will walk around make the doll give Emmy, Andrew or me kisses. So sweet. 

He is still our little cuddle bug. Quick to give hugs and kisses. He enjoys reading and will at times sit on his own and flip through a book. 

August is our funny, little kid. So sweet and goofy, with a bit of mischief mixed in there. He keeps us on our toes and always in laughter.
