Product Reviews:
~ Emaline has been enjoying her sippy cup. It really doesn't leak one bit. Emmy loves to just hold it while she plays. Emmy has put her seal of approval on the Nuby sippy cup.
~Not sure if I have already reviewed this product. Even if I have it is worth mentioning again. The ERGO baby carrier. It is comfy, versatile in holding positions and comes in pretty colors.
~CDs, these next cds are for the kids and the parents. Cute songs that won't drive you CRAZY!!!!!!!:
- They Might Be Giants, Here comes the 1, 2, 3s.
This cd is super cute and educational. They also have the ABC's that I haven't heard yet, but I am sure it super cute.
- For the kids (cds, one, too and three)
We LOVE these cds. They are classic kids songs sung by popular recording artist. Like Jason Mraz singing Rainbow Connection, or Cake singing Mahna Mahna. I highly recommend these. If you are looking for a gift to give new parents or any parent they will love these.
-Putumayo Kids
These cds focus on kids songs from different regions of the world. There is African songs, Caribbean, Celtic, etc. I love that these cds expose kiddos to different ranges of music as well as countries and cultures. LOVE IT. Go visit their website!
Can anyone recommend finger paint that is baby friendly?
Thoughts on Christmas:
Since having Emaline we have been thinking about how we are going to experience Christmas. There are a few new traditions that we are going to start. The first being an advent calendar. I plan on making this one. My friend Claire, also told me about Celebrating the Christian Year that had some good ideas about Christmas. One of the things the book talks about is to put out your nativity scene, but without the wisemen, baby Jesus and Joseph and Mary. Joseph and Mary are placed around the house and then move closer to the stable the closer it gets to Christmas. It can be interactive where the kids have to find Joseph or Mary, or they can help move them from room to room. And then on Christmas morning Baby Jesus arrives in the manger. A few days after Christmas the Wisemen arrive. We don't have a Nativity Scene, but I was looking at this one. Another thing that I think we are going to do ( we haven't quite decided yet) is the 3 Gift Rule. We will get Emaline only 3 gifts: One to wear, one to read and one to play with. That will keep it budget friendly, we will put more thought into each gift, plus it is also a teaching opportunity about how Jesus also got 3 gifts. OH!!! and another one that Claire told me about was to keep your Christmas tree, take off all the branches and use one of the bigger branches to make a cross at Easter. I like that one as well.
What are some of y'all's family Christmas traditions?

I remember that each year we got a new Christmas book and read it as a family. I always enjoyed it.
Edible Finger Paint- http://crafts.kaboose.com/edible-finger-paint.html
I second the rave review for the Ergo carrier..it is seriously worth the price and then some!
also..remember we used to give a birthday present to Jesus? That was always one of my favorites...that and the advent wreath..and then the opening of one present on Christmas Eve after the Candle light service
Every year since birth, we picked out a new christmas ornament that was meaningful to the year. So, one year a dance shoe, etc. It was so fun getting to pick out a new ornament and then go through all the previous ones once we got a little older. Every year, I'd line them all up in a row from oldest to newest and talk about why I picked that one out (means a little more once the kid can remember =).
Also, is the Ergo offered in any stores that I could register for? Didn't see it at Baby's R Us? Or does it have to be ordered on-line (You guys sent me the link already).
Thanks for the cutie video!!!!
Emaline is too cute and is growing up way too fast :) We look forward to seeing y'all when y'all get up here to see the rest of us'all. (just tying to make this a Texas-friendly post.)
Emmy is too cute! I love the phase we are in now, but I can't wait to push Silas in a swing!
Thanks for being my first blog friend. I've been amazed at how many people have blogs - I was so oblivious!
Yes - I am still nursing. It was a rough start b/c my milk took forever to come in b/c of the traumatic labor. But since 2 weeks old he has been on breast milk only. And he eats every 4-5 hours during the day and sleeps 6 hours at night, so it's not bad at all!
I hope you had a fun time in Indy! Were you able to go to the Aveda salon??
