So I have a few rules that I live by (or at least attempt to): Love God and Love People.
On a non-spiritual level, some of my rules are:
A home for everything and everything in its home. This is to put a curb on clutter and amassing lots of stuff. If it doesn't have a home, it doesn't stay in my home. If I like it enough to use/keep it, something else has got to go. Needless to say I am always organizing and rearranging, trying to make things efficient.
Don't buy it, if I already have one. This is to curb what I call "The Gimmies" or "The wants". I don't need 5 tubs of lotion because one claims to be the newest formula. I don't need 5 eye shadows that are practically the same shade. I am a no mess, no fuss, let's be practical and functional and then pretty kind of girl. I don't buy tennis shoes until the one I already have are no longer wearable. I try to utilize what I already have and make that work. If I see a shirt I like, but it requires me to buy matching pants/skirt and/or shoes, I won't get it.
~ A sub-rule to this rule is: Don't start a new project until the ones I have already started are finished. This is curb the crafty bug and leaving 10 projects undone. I had to instill this rule the other week when I got hit with the bug real bad. I have two things I am working on right now(trying to finish things I started over a YEAR ago) Needless to say, I have a list of things to make the moment I have those things completed.
They are as follows in no particular order:
Easter Egg Basket
Felt Food for Emmy
Tutu
Reusable Sandwich wrap BTW if anyone has vinyl or plastic coated place mats that they don't need( and aren't funky) I will take them!
Reusable Snack Bags
I Spy Mini Quilt
Quiet Book ( Either I will make this or Emmy might ask Noni to make her one...maybe...in a few years when she is old enough to play with it...we'll talk later, Mom :-) )
There are a few other things I plan on making but Emaline's cousins might be getting some for their birthdays (when they get a bit older of course...I mean, they aren't even born yet! Waiting....what will they be!!!!), so I want to keep it a secret.
What are you making or want to make.....maybe we can make a trade????

Fun! Great rules to live by! I am the opposite of every single one of them, though I don't mean to be :) I have a dress to finish making, two onesies to embroider, a hat to finish crocheting, and a shelf for Lorelai's room (most of these average 6 months of stand-still time...) yikes! Maybe I need to have a "finish it!" week... Leslie got L's dress from Old Navy...I'm not sure if they still have them, maybe online for sale? It's been about 4-6 weeks.
hmmmm I don't think I have anything you would want to "trade" with..
I make...radiation! though I must admit..i make it very very well! :P
well I'm also cooking a baby..but no tradesy there ;)
hmm i also attempt to make edible goods..sometimes. but from a box. usually.
So your sis got passed up on the crafty bug..but your niece/nephew can't wait to see what you want to make shim! haha
nope, didn't make this tutu! I sewed the L on her top and made her bow, that's it! The tutu my mom found at TJ Max for $12.99! She asked me how many tutu's a little girl needs, and then buys her more. :)
man! i really gotta use your rule about not starting a new craft until the old one is finished! it's a little bananas! i don't even want to count all the "undone" projects i have right now! augh!
