So here are some pictures from our trip to Houston. We had a great time. It was wonderful to see friends and family and "show" Emmy where I grew up. The trip
included many of Emaline's FIRSTS! I have captured them on "film" for posterity sake....Emmy won't recall one bit of the trip. But it will be fun to tell her the stories that accompany these pictures.
But First
Top 3 comments/questions made by those who first met Emmy:
1) Look at all that hair! Who did she get all that hair from?
2) How did she do on the airplane?
3) Who does she look like?
Here is Emmy on her very first airplane. She didn't cry one bit on the plane....except when she had a poopy diaper. She slept through every take off and landing. I also experienced my first time trying to change her in an airplane bathroom. Not fun, but we did succeed.
Here is Emmy meeting her Great Grandparents for the first time! Oh how they loved to hold and play with her. I could tell Emmy loved to be held by them.
Here we are meeting my dear friend from high school, Jennifer. I also got to meet two of her kids, plus she has one of the way!
We went to mom's Bible study for a shower for Abby. Boy did the ladies love Emmy. This was the first nonformal generations picture.
Another shower for Emaline's cousin.
Another first: First bath in a sink. I like Emmy's face. It's like she's saying, "OOOOH, I'm gonna clobber you for putting me in this sink!" Trust me, she didn't really mind it, especially if you see the next, post bath picture.
Grama holding a clean baby....waiting to get pictures taken.
Emmy fell asleep during time....the first time she slept on her tummy. I think she liked it.
Emaline and her Aunt Sam. Sam is one of my best friends and I am SO thankful that Emaline got to meet her.
Emmy's First experience with blue bonnets. I love her face in the second picture.
The whole family minus the boys. Andrew and Travis were missed!
Emaline and Aunt Alexis. Thanks for making the drive down, Alexis. I am so glad that Emaline got to meet you!
The Girls...LOVE LOVE LOVE them!
Now on to more product reviews. These have been Mom tested and Emmy approved!
The First Years Double Scrubber Bottle Brush~ Love this bottle brush. Works very well. Thanks, Katie, for suggesting this and for getting it for us. I love it!
Boudreaux's Butt Paste works very well. I had been using Desitin, but when Abby got some at her shower I thought we should give it a try. It works much better...love it!
The Bumbo. Doesn't she look so cute and tiny in her little chair. She really enjoys sitting up like a big girl. I LOVE IT! I wish I had gotten one a bit earlier.
This hasn't been Emmy tested, but it is Emmy approved. Emmy's cousin got one at a shower...Emmy let me know she needed one too. It's a plush stacking ring set that is probably taller than Emmy. I think it is just adorable.
The No Slippy Hair Clippy- LOVE IT! I am not a fan of super huge bows, flower, and headbands, so I thought this modest little flower was the perfect accessory. It really doesn't slip out. It is Emaline's first accessory, the first of many to come! She is so adorable!
And to finish off the blog: A picture from Emaline's first disc golf tournament. We went to Phoenix yesterday to watch the pros play at a big tournament. It was fun. It was nice to get out in the warm weather.

Oh, what an awesome blog. Emmy sure had a lot of firsts in TX. I'll admit, when I saw the pic of grandma and grandpa meeting her, I burst out in tears. I miss everyone so much and often forget how much until I see pictures. Glad so many got to meet her! I hope my turn is soon. Not 100% sure about Christmas in TX yet because Jay can't take vacation at Christmas (the downside of retail). Oh, and thanks for the pics you sent! On my fridge now. Love you!
Great pics! I love the No Slippy Hair Clippy! I'd almost just buy it for the cute name haha! But she wears it well :D Just think: In 13 years it will be high heels! haha
And you found the plush Ring Toy! Yay! Where did you end up finding it? :) I already love it and I haven't even had Baby yet haha
Thank you for all of the pictures and chatty posts. Even though we can't be there, it feels like we haven't missed everything. I have never seen the bumbo, way cool. I am glad about the size of the hair clippy--too many are too small and I am afraid of the choking hazard. The pictures were wonderful, made everyone stop and meet our granddaughter yesterday. They all said how old she looked with all that hair. I will find the larger photos of Daddy in some of the same positions for his first portraits.
oh poot!!! motherhood suits you so well! glad you got to go back to TX to visit! tell abby (or tell abby to read this) that she looks great!!! when is she due? i miss jen and glenna! my goodness presley looks just like tanner did! i did a double take! the blue bonnet pics are the best! :) that face! what a beautiful daughter you have! much love to you!!!
What a beauty! I still need to go find some bluebonnets for lorelai. And, if I may offer some bribery, I'll make some little no slip hair clippies for Emaline in exchange for a visit next time you're in town!
