So, I started this blog as a way for me to occupy my time about baby stuff during the time where we hadn't told anyone yet. Well, now that the cat is out of the bag, I figured maybe I would give this blog thing a try. At the very least it might be an easier way to keep everyone updated. Especially since my memory isn't all that great and I forget who I told what and what I need to tell. Maybe this will keep all my ducks in a row. So, here goes.
Watch what you say... tiny bones forming in baby's ears mean the little one can now pick up your voice. Eyebrows, lashes and hair are starting to fill in, and taste buds are forming. And, if you're interested, an ultrasound might be able to determine gender.
I am on week 16, the week of the Avocado. So far, this is my favorite week soley on the fact that avocados are my favorite fruit. What do you think of Avocado Johnson? Catchy, huh? I have reached my goal of not wearing maternity clothes until at least 15 weeks and am thinking that I might be able to go a few more weeks since I am still wearing all more normal clothes. I don't think that I am really showing that much, but could look the part depending on what clothes I am wearing. I will post some pictures in a little bit.We are slowly clearing out the baby's room. It is sort of being used as a catch all. It is currently painted a neon, Finding Nemo, blue and I swear that it glows at night. (Thanks previous owner) My hope is to prime it white this weekend until we decide what colors to paint. We have a few baby items already. I have been finding good bargains and have even gotten a few things for free. We have a bouncer seat, a baby bath and a crib all for free. Thanks to a friend and Freecycle! I also have gotten a few things at a garage sale: 6 white onsies and a few receiving blankets that I will make into baby wipes (we plan to cloth diaper and use homemade wipes, but that is a post for another time) all for a quarter each.
My next doctor's appointment is next Tuesday. The next ultrasound won't be until week 20, but the way my appointments fall it won't be until week 22.
Here is some generic info regarding some questions that we get asked a lot.
Gender: We are going to find out the gender of the baby, which should happen at the appointment on week 22. We have not decided when we will disclose gender information. We do want to keep some information between Andrew and I for a little bit. But we do plan on telling everyone before the actual birth.
Names: We do not have any names picked out. We are open to reasonable suggestions(not names like Avocado). We will most likely keep the name a secret until we can formally introduce the baby to the world. I can be fairly indecisive and might have to make a game time decision.
Due Date: December 2, 2008.
Health: I am feeling rather well these days. I get hungry alot. I need to eat at regular intervals or I start to not feel well. I have pretty good energy, but do get tired a bit more quickly. I have been good at taking my vitamins.
I think that's it. Let me know if I left anything out that you want to know (w/in reason). Check out my first post to see some of the cute things that I have found.

MEGS! congrats on the baby! wow...it seems like just yesterday, i was in high school and we were sitting in your room above your parent's garage, just chilling!
baby names:
boys: Jax and Jet are cute.
girls: Joliette. that's the name i would if i was having a baby...but i'm not. :)
hey..blog=good idea!
hmm so "Avocado" is out as a name choice eh? Too bad, your baby might have been a playmate with Gwenyth Paltrow's Apple.
well i guess that leaves the door wide open for "Abigail".. i've heard it's a totally awesome name ;)
don't forget, you have a hat already. and i plan on knitting more, but i'll wait to find out if it's a boy or a girl. I am so excited for you guys! (This is Andrea, by the way)
